TFA

  1. Trace the chronology of the Ibo people's responses to the arrival and settlement of the white man. What attitudes toward the Ibo people do the white men bring and how do their attitudes determine their treatments of the native people? What is the British view of the Africans and their way of life?
Before the white man came, the Ibo people were very selfish. When I say selfish I mean that they were very much into what they were doing, and didn’t really care about what all was going on around them, well at least before the white man came, but when the white man showed up in the other tribe, and the Ibo people heard about the story, they started to panic. They were panicking because the oracle had stated that the white man would bring trouble. Then they heard that the Abame had killed a white man, when he didn’t say a word, which you’re not supposed to do. Then all the Abame had basically been killed or fled. It was a real tragedy.

The white men didn’t really like the Africans; they thought that they were savages. They weren’t though, because they had a pretty organized system, and then the white people didn’t even try to find out what they’re laws were. They treated them like they knew exactly what they were saying, and like they weren’t able to do anything for themselves. Even though they had built this entire tribe that they were currently staying in.
