I thought that it was good that Ishmael got like a break from that place, because I think that it kind of helped him in a way, because he was free and he didn’t ever really think about violence or anything like that until the end where he said he felt like he was a junior lieutenant again, because the 2 other boys were following him. I also think that he’s becoming more like a kid now, because he knew he wouldn’t be able to pay so he basically did something that any kid would do if they couldn’t pay I think.
It was really weird when he would like keep running out of the hospital just and then he would get sick again, then he would go back to the hospital, then he would get sick, etc.
The big fight between the rebels and the army stunned me. I mean, you’d think they’d know better to put army and rebels separate, especially when they’re knew to the camp and have no clue what is going on really.

I agree about the part where he was acting like a kid again where he couldn't pay for the bus. It seemed like he was happy for the first time in a long time.
