I really felt bad for him when the war came back and he was reminded of all these memories of the war, when he had just come back from the reformation group. Then he really didn’t want to shoot someone because he was afraid of becoming like he was. Which to me is completely understandable. I kind of don’t understand though like why wouldn’t he take Mohamed with him to New York, but then again they might not have been able to afford it, and it was mainly Ishmael’s idea anyways.
I really want to know if he made it to New York okayly because they never really told us. I mean obviously he turned okay if he wrote this book, but I want to know sort of every detail in a way, about New York and stuff.

I also really wanted to know what happened after the book ended. It was such a gripping story and I don't think that the book really ended. (for me anyway) I guess we can both find out for ourselves when Ishmael Beah comes to speak at Butler. I really hope he writes a sequel.
