Was it right for Romeo and Juliet to run off and get married? Or was it foolish? Or both? Explain your response.
I think that it was right because they did it because they both knew that their parents wouldn't allow them to marry one another because their families were enemies and they would always start fights and such, and if they asked their parents to get married and they actually agreed, at the wedding most likely someone in one family would start a fight with someone in the other family. They had to do it so quick because Paris would've gotten Juliet before Romeo did. Also Lord Capulet would've probably said "No" to Romeo because he was already getting an offer from Paris, and since Capulet and Montague are enemies he would've ruled Romeo out right away, although Lord Capulet let Romeo stay at the party because Lord Capulet heard that Romeo was a nice boy and knew that he probably wouldn't do any harm.
I also think that it was foolish of them because they planned their wedding to be so soon before Paris and Juliet actually had a date for their wedding, I would accept their getting married so soon if Juliet had already known when the date for her wedding to Paris was but she didn't so I think that Romeo and Juliet could've gotten to know each other a little bit more than they did, and maybe if they waited to get married things wouldn't have ended the way they did.
Would you have lied to your whole family if you were in Juliet’s position? Why or why not?
Yes I would've lied because she knew her parents wouldn't approve one bit, so she figured it would be best to keep him a secret so she wouldn't dissappoint or make her parents mad.
Should Romeo have been punished for killing Tybalt? How should he have been punished? Explain why you think this.
Yes because he still knew that anyone who killed another would've gotten killed but he did it anyways so he knew what was coming, and he should consider himself lucky to be just kicked out of Verona instead of killed.
